Journey Into Their Stories. Return to Your Own.
Introducing a new guided spiritual storytelling series by Read Alfurqan.
Imagine traveling thousands of years into the past.
You leave your home, your city, and everything familiar behind. You arrive in a world you have never seen, surrounded by people whose lives unfolded long before yours.
You witness a mother struggling to protect her child. You follow someone forced to leave home without knowing where the journey will lead. You stand among people facing a danger they cannot escape.
You feel their fear, their hope, and their uncertainty.
And when the journey ends, you return to your own life.
But something has changed.
The story no longer feels like something that happened thousands of years ago. It feels strangely connected to your own experiences.
This is the idea behind Your Life Through the Prophets’ Stories.
Why I Created This Series
The Qur'an tells us extraordinary stories about the lives of the prophets.
Many of us have heard these stories since childhood. We know the names, the miracles, and the major events.
But sometimes, familiarity makes us forget how extraordinary these moments truly were.
We know that Prophet Musa was placed in a river as an infant. Yet we rarely stop to imagine what his mother must have faced when she entrusted her child to Allah.
We know that Prophet Yusuf was separated from his family. Yet we may overlook the uncertainty of a young person suddenly finding himself far from home.
We remember the miracles, but sometimes forget the human experiences surrounding them.
Fear. Separation. Waiting. Hope. Trust.
Experiences that remain familiar to us today.
I wanted to create something that would bring us closer to these stories, not simply by explaining them, but by allowing us to spend time within them.
A Different Way to Experience the Qur'an
This series is not a traditional lecture, a Qur'an recitation, or a conventional retelling of the prophets' lives.
It is a guided spiritual journey.
Each episode begins in your own world.
You close your eyes, take a slow breath, and imagine yourself rising above your surroundings. You travel backward through time until you reach the world in which the story took place.
From there, the events begin to unfold.
Through gentle narration, carefully chosen sound effects, and moments of silence, you are invited to imagine witnessing the story as it happens.
There are no frequent interruptions to explain the lessons or tell you what you should feel.
The story is allowed to speak for itself.
And when it ends, you travel forward through time and return to the place where you began.
Only then do we reflect.
Their Stories. Your Life.
This final part is what matters most to me.
The stories of the prophets are not simply records of extraordinary events from the distant past.
They can help us recognize experiences within our own lives.
The fear of losing someone we love. The regret of a mistake. The loneliness of being far from home. The uncertainty of waiting for something to change.
The prophets faced extraordinary trials, yet many of the emotions surrounding those trials remain deeply human.
You may return from a story remembering a particular moment.
Perhaps it will be a mother's trust, a prophet's patience, or a path that appeared only when everything seemed impossible.
And perhaps that moment will stay with you the next time you face something similar.
The aim is not to suggest that our lives are the same as those of the prophets. Their responsibilities and experiences were extraordinary.
Rather, it is to discover how the guidance Allah gave through their stories can illuminate our own.
Journey into their stories. Return to your own.
Staying Faithful to the Qur'an
There is one principle I want to preserve throughout this project.
The events we narrate will be grounded in the Qur'an itself.
The historical accounts will not be expanded with invented conversations, unverified events, or details presented as facts when they are not found in the Qur'an.
The scenery, sounds, and guided journey are creative ways of helping you imagine being present. They are not claims about the exact appearance of places or how every event happened.
My hope is to bring the Qur'anic accounts closer to your heart while remaining faithful to what Allah has revealed.
Our First Journey: Prophet Musa (Moses)
<escape>Our first episode is called The River, the Fire, and the Sea.</escape>
It follows Prophet Musa from his infancy under Pharaoh's rule, through his escape from Egypt and his years in Madyan, to his encounter with Allah in the sacred valley.
You will witness his return to Pharaoh, the extraordinary signs, and the journey that leads the Children of Israel to the sea.
Then you will return to your own life and reflect on what you have experienced.
It is a story of fear, forgiveness, courage, and trust in Allah.
And perhaps it will leave you seeing parts of your own journey differently.
An Invitation
Whether you have known these stories your entire life or are discovering them for the first time, you are welcome on this journey.
You do not need to be a scholar or have a deep knowledge of the Qur'an.
You simply need a quiet place, a little time, and a willingness to listen.
I hope these journeys bring you closer to the Qur'an, help you reflect on your own experiences, and remind you that the guidance Allah gave through the prophets remains meaningful today.
Welcome to Your Life Through the Prophets’ Stories.
