What is Islam?

What is Islam?
Islam is an Arabic word that means: Surrender. Submission. Obedience. Sincerity. And Peace.

Islam is the religion that was assigned to all mankind by God, or Allah (the Arabic word for God). Islam was delivered through Allah's final messenger, prophet Mohammad around 610 AD (about 1400 years ago). The core message of Islam did not start with the prophet Mohammad. It started with Adam and continued with the following prophets including Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. Mohammad is the last of these prophets, and he is unique in that he is the only prophet who was sent to all humanity. All prophets share one core and fundamental message; there is only one God (Allah), and only he is worthy of worship.
