What Allah Tells You (and all mankind) in The Quran?

Muslims believe that the Quran is the literal word of Allah, which was a revelation through the head angel Gabriel to prophet Mohamed in 609–632 CE. In many passages from the Quran, Allah addresses all mankind. It is fundamental for mankind from all backgrounds, religions, and languages, to know what Allah is saying to them specifically to be able to make an informed decision on whether or not to follow Quran commandments.

Allah addresses mankind in the following ayat:

Al-Baqarah “The Heifer” (2: 21-25)

✵ O mankind! Worship your Lord who created you and created those who preceded you, that you may attain faith ✵ He who made the earth a habitat for you, and the sky a structure, and sends water down from the sky, and brings out fruits thereby, as a sustenance for you. Therefore, do not assign rivals to God while you know. ✵ And if you are in doubt about what we have revealed to our servant, then produce a surah like these, and call your witnesses apart from God, if you are truthful ✵ But if you do not—and you will not (produce a surah)—then beware of the fire that is fueled by people and stones, prepared for the disbelievers ✵ And give good news to those who believe and do righteous deeds; that they will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with fruit therefrom as sustenance, they will say, “This is what we were provided with before,” and they will be given the like of it. And they will have pure spouses therein, and they will abide therein forever ✵

Al-Baqarah “The Heifer” (2:168-169)

✵ O mankind! Eat of what is lawful and good on earth, and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. He is to you an open enemy ✵ He commands you to do evil and vice, and to say about God what you do not know ✵

Al-Nisa “Women” (4:170)
✵ O people! The Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord, so believe—that is best for you. But if you disbelieve, to God belongs everything in the heavens and the earth. God is all-knowing and all-wise ✵

Al-Nisa “Women” (4:174-175)

✵ O people! Proof has come to you from your Lord, and We sent down to you a clear light ✵ As for those who believe in God, and hold fast to Him, He will admit them into mercy and grace from Him, and will guide them to Himself in a straight path ✵

Al-A’raf “The Elevations” (7:158)
✵ Say: "Mankind, I am a messenger from God [Alone] for all of you, (God) Who holds control over Heaven and Earth. There is no god but He; He gives life and brings death.” Believe in God and His messenger, the Unlettered Prophet who himself believes in God [Alone] and His words: follow him so you may be guided." ✵

Yonus “Jonah” (10:57)

✵ O people! There has come to you advice from your Lord, and healing for what is in the hearts, and guidance and mercy for the believers ✵

Yonus “Jonah” (10:104-108)
✵ Say, “O people, if you are in doubt about my religion—I do not worship those you worship apart from God. But I worship Allah, the one who brings you death. And I was ordered to be of the believers” ✵ And dedicate yourself to the true religion—a monotheist—and don’t be of the polytheists ✵ And do not ask, apart from God, what neither benefits you nor harms you. If you do, you are then one of the wrongdoers ✵ If God afflicts you with harm, none can remove it except He, and if He wishes you good there is none who could take away His blessings. He makes it reach whomever He wills of His servants. He is the Forgiver, the Merciful ✵ Say, “O people, the truth has come to you from your Lord. Whoever accepts guidance is guided for his own soul; and whoever strays only strays to its detriment. I am not a guardian over you.” ✵

Al-Hajj “The Pilgrimage” (22:1-2)
✵ O people, be conscious of your Lord. The quaking at the Hour will be a serious matter ✵ On the Day you see it disturb every nursing mother that she will be distracted from her nursing child, and every pregnant woman will abort her pregnancy, and you will think that people are drunk while they are not-but Allah’s punishment is severe ✵

Al-Hajj “The Pilgrimage” (22:5-7)
✵ O mankind, if you have ever been in doubt about Resurrection, well We created you from dirt; then from a drop of semen; then from a clot; then from a lump of tissue either shaped or else shapeless, so We might clarify to you. We cause anything We wish to rest in wombs for a stated period; then We bring you forth as infants; eventually you reach full growth. Some of you will pass away, while others of you will be sent back to the delicate age, so that he will not know a thing after once having had knowledge. You see the infertile earth, then if We send water down upon it, stirring, sprouting and producing every sort of lovely species in pairs ✵

Al-Hajj “The Pilgrimage” (22:73-74)

✵ O humanity! A lesson is set forth, so listen to it ˹carefully˺: those ˹idols˺ you invoke besides Allah can never create ˹so much as˺ a fly, even if they ˹all˺ were to come together for that. And if a fly were to snatch anything away from them, they cannot ˹even˺ retrieve it from the fly. How powerless are those who invoke and those invoked! ✵ They have not shown Allah the reverence He deserves. Surely Allah is All-Powerful, Almighty ✵

Luqman (31:33)
✵ O humanity! Be mindful of your Lord, and beware of a Day when no parent will be of any benefit to their child, nor will a child be of any benefit to their parent. Surely Allah’s promise is true. So do not let the life of this world deceive you, nor let the Chief Deceiver deceive you about Allah ✵

Fatir “Originator” (35:3)
✵ O humanity! Remember Allah’s favors upon you. Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the heavens and the earth? There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him. How can you then be deluded ˹from the truth˺? ✵

Fatir “Originator” (35:5-6)
✵ O humanity! Indeed, Allah’s promise is true. So do not let the life of this world deceive you, nor let the Chief Deceiver deceive you about Allah ✵ Surely Satan is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy. He only invites his followers to become inmates of the Inferno ✵

Fatir “Originator” (35:15-22)

✵ O humanity! It is you who stand in need of Allah, but Allah ˹alone˺ is the Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy ✵ If He willed, He could eliminate you and produce a new creation ✵ And that is not difficult for Allah ˹at all˺ ✵ No soul burdened with sin will bear the burden of another. And if a sin-burdened soul cries for help with its burden, none of it will be carried—even by a close relative. You ˹O Prophet˺ can only warn those who stand in awe of their Lord without seeing Him and establish prayer. Whoever purifies themselves, they only do so for their own good. And to Allah is the final return ✵ Those blind ˹to the truth˺ and those who can see are not equal ✵ Nor are the darkness and the light ✵ nor the ˹scorching˺ heat and the ˹cool˺ shade ✵ Nor are the dead and the living equal. Indeed, Allah ˹alone˺ makes whoever He wills hear, but you ˹O Prophet˺ can never make those in the graves hear ˹your call˺✵

Al-Hujurat “The Chambers” (49:13)
✵ O people! We created you from a male and a female, and made you races and tribes, that you may know one another. The best among you in the sight of God is the most righteous. God is All-Knowing, All-Aware ✵
